New Factory to Produce Grid Equipment with an Investment of Around USD 200 Million

At the GE Vernova Energy of Change Summit, the company announced a planned investment of approximately USD 200 million to expand its grid solutions manufacturing capacity through the construction of a new factory in Hai Phong.

The facility will focus on producing large power transformers, primarily serving HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) transmission projects. This technology enables efficient long-distance electricity transmission while ensuring the stability, safety, and reliability of power grids.

The Hai Phong facility will complement GE Vernova’s existing HVDC transformer manufacturing network in Stafford (United Kingdom) and India.

The project is expected to be developed in phases and reach full operation by 2028. Once completed, the factory will manufacture critical power equipment at scale to support GE Vernova’s global project portfolio while meeting the growing demand of the regional market.

A Milestone of Cooperation at Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park

Speaking at the project launch ceremony, a representative of Sao Do Group, the developer of Nam Dinh Vu Industrial Park, expressed pride in GE Vernova’s decision to select the industrial park as the location for its new project in Hai Phong.
